Imphal:
Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on May 30, condemned the Thoubal blast which took the life of one civilian.
As per reports, at least one person has been killed and four others have been injured after a powerful IED blast rocked Manipur’s Thoubal district past midnight on Sunday around 1:30 am.
The explosion reportedly took place inside the Community Hall at Sapam Mayai Leikai, Khongjom where a few non-local workers were engaged in some work. The workers, as per reports, were engaged by water tank construction companies Koya and GCKC.
While five workers were rushed to the hospital, one succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the deceased has been identified as Pankaj Mahato of West Bengal, and those injured have been identified as Aroop Mandal, Souvik Patra, Apoorva Mandal, and Rajesh Ramaanik. Further investigation is underway.
