Apprehended Bangladeshi nationals

Shillong:

After getting hold of 10 alleged Bangladeshis, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Jowai circle has urged the people of Jaintia Hills starting from Seiñ Khynroo to be vigilant and implement their own version of “Inner Line Permit (ILP)” to tackle influx of immigrants.

In a statement issued here on Monday, the Jowai circle of the union informed that it came across suspicious looking people at Thadlaskein.

The KSU Jowai circle and KSU Moodymmai unit said that the 10 people were found hiding in a truck bearing registration number RJ 07 GB 2246.

The union stated that the people do not have any valid documents to show that they are Indian citizens and later admitted that they are from Bangladesh.

The police personnel from the Infiltration department took the 10 people to the Bangladesh border.

The union has expressed its anger at the state government and the union government on the delay in the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP).

The students’ union stated that the infiltration of non-Indians will pose a danger to the indigenous people.
