SHILLONG:
A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a 19-year-old woman whose body was retrieved by the police at Pahamsyiem in Nongpoh on September 26.
According to sources, the headman of Pahamsyiem informed the police about the incident after the deceased body was found lying on the road at 11:30 am.
Police personnel who rushed to the spot to ascertain the details conducted an inquiry and informed that the deceased and the accused were living together for a while and a quarrel may have led to the death.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the accused and all legal formalities are being observed. Further investigation on the matter is ongoing.
