SHILLONG:
One of the biggest football tournament in Ri Bhoi district known as 1st Damanbait Lamare knock out football tournament started at Umroi, Ri Bhoi district, on September 24.
The tournament is organised by the National People’s Youth Front at Umroi, Nongrah.
The winner will get an amount of Rs 3 lakh. The tournament was flagged off by Dasakhiat Lamare, minister of transport as chief guest accompanied by a candidate from Umroi constituency Damanbait Lamare and former MLA of Umroi, Ngaitlang Dhar.
The opening game was played between Pahamrioh FC vs Iatylli FC, where Pahamrioh FC emerged winner against Iatylli FC by 3-1. The match was thoroughly entertaining for the spectators.
Next match will be played by Sohkyndur FC against Ezerial FC on October 1 at 1pm at the same venue.
