3-member MHA team to visit Nagaland from Dec 16

In the aftermath of the meeting of the ENPO Talk Team with Union home minister Amit Shah in the national capital on December 6, the Centre has constituted a three-member team to study various aspects of the statehood demand.

GUWAHATI:

The three-member team constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to study the demand for Eastern Nagaland statehood raised by Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) will visit Nagaland from December 16 to 18, official sources here said on December 12.

In the aftermath of the meeting of the ENPO Talk Team with Union home minister Amit Shah in the national capital on December 6, the Centre has constituted a three-member team to study various aspects of the statehood demand.

The committee is comprised of retired IPS officer and advisor to Northeast Division of MHA, AK Mishra; senior IPS officer and joint director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Dr Mandeep Singh Tuli and director of Northeast Division of MHA, AK Dhyani.

The team will arrive at Tuensang helipad at 1 pm on December 16 and will hold a meeting with ENPO Talks Team from 3 pm.

On December 17, the team will hold a meeting with tribal bodies, another round of meeting with ENPO and ENSF, joint meeting with Gaon Buraaas, Dobashi and senior citizens.

On December 18, the team will fly to Pangsa and at 11.30 am they will take off for Kohima.

Meanwhile, the ENPO will also hold its central executive committee (CEC) on December 19.
