SHILLONG:
At least 43 athletes will be representing Meghalaya in the Khelo India Youth Games scheduled to be held at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from January 30 till February 11 in nine disciplines.
The young sportspersons will be competing in football (Boys U-18), Archery, Judo, Swimming, Yoga, Tennis, Archery, Shooting, Canoeing and Kayaking.
Before the athletes and officials set off to Bhopal, the Sports & Youth Affairs department on January 25 held a small programme at Polo Ground to motivate and familiarise them with the plans for the upcoming event.
14 officials and Chef-de-Missions will accompany the group to Bhopal.
The event was attended by Principal Secretary Dr Shakil P. Ahammed, Working President Meghalaya State Olympics Association John F Kharshiing and Director sports and youth affairs Vibhor Agarwal among others.
