GUWAHATI:
In a special drive, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) caught nine Rohingyas, including five females, from Agartala Railway Station on December 16, an NF Railway official informed on Sunday.
“A joint team of RPF and GRP (Government Railway Police) conducted a special check against illegal migrants in all the incoming and outgoing trains at Agartala railway station. While checking they detected 9 Bangladeshi. On interrogation they could not produce any valid documents and later confessed that they were from Bangladesh and of Myanmar origin,” the official said.
“Later all the 9 Bangladeshi/Rohingyas were apprehended and brought to RPF post and handed over to the officer in-charge of Agartala GRP station for further legal action,” the official also said.
