SHILLONG:
BJP state president Ernest Mawrie said anybody is welcome to join the party but without conditions.
“The door is open to anybody who wants to join the party but we cannot put conditions. This is national party and we have to follow its ideology and work like that,” Mawrie said.
He was reacting to KHNAM legislator Adelbert Nongrum’s statement that he is ready to join the BJP if ILP is implemented in the state.
“He (Nongrum) has not met me or neither approached the party and it is a paper statement so I cannot comment on that. We are a national party, you cannot just come with conditions. We have different ideology, we cannot surrender that,” he said.
