Assam man missing in Manipur’s landslide; kin en route

As per reports, Talukdar was working in the Indian Railway department.

Guwahati:

Kamlesh Talukdar, an engineer from Agamoni Kaldoba have gone missing in the devastating landslide in Manipur’s Noney.

As per reports, Talukdar was working in the Indian Railway Department. Creating a mournful atmosphere at Kamlesh Talukdar’s house, friends and family of Talukdar, are flying to Manipur with the high hope to see him safe and sound.

Speaking to the father of Talukdar, he said that the whole family hopes for a safe return of their son from the disaster-hit landslide in Manipur.

Kamalesh Talukdar hails from the Dhubri district of Assam. The incident took place at the Tupul Yard Railway Construction Camp in Manipur’s Noney where the personnel of the 107 Territorial Army were camping to protect the under-construction railway line from Jiribam to Imphal.

Search operations by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Territorial Army, SDRF and NDRF continue at the incident site at Tupul, Manipur. On the other hand, two additional bodies of Territorial Army personnel were recovered.

So far 13 Territorial Army personnel and 05 civilians have been safely rescued
