BJP holds state Election Committee meeting to finalise candidates

State BJP chief also informed that the party will be contesting in all the 60 assembly seats and applications have been received from all the constituencies.

SHILLONG:

The Meghalaya unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on January 27 held their state Election Committee meeting to finalise the names of candidates for the upcoming assembly polls.

Apart from the state party leaders, others who were present were – Meghalaya in-charge M Chuba Ao, Rupam Goswami party spokesperson from Assam and legislators Sanbor Shullai and AL Hek.

“We have prepared the list today. We are going to send it to Delhi immediately and within February 2 we are going to declare the tickets,” state BJP president Ernest Mawrie informed.

Mawrie also informed that the BJP will be contesting in all the 60 assembly seats and applications have been received from all the constituencies.

He also said that the party will release its manifesto soon after the names of thecandidates are announced.

“Manifesto is already prepared. The issues that will be included have already been discussed in Tura during the visit of BL Santhosh the national general secretary in-charge organisation was there,” Mawrie informed.
