BJP to start ground work for polls soon: Hek

SHILLONG:

With over a year left for the Assembly polls in Meghalaya, BJP legislator from Pynthorumkhrah constituency Alexander Laloo Hek on Friday said that the saffron party will aggressively start ground work for the assembly elections in the state in 2023 after
those in some other states of the country end.

“There are Punjab, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Manipur elections coming up and for that reason we are not presently concentrating in Meghalaya,” Hek told reporters.
He said that after that the party will be strengthened in the state and it will put up as many candidates as possible.

Hek also informed that he has been going on and off to Manipur to campaign for the party candidates. “All our leaders are also busy for elections in Goa, UP, Uttarakhand and Punjab,” he said while adding once these elections are over, the party will take
steps to further strengthen the organization in Meghalaya.

When asked if Hek will be sticking with the party, he said that he is the National Executive Member of the party. “Somebody may be dreaming but I am in BJP and working for the party,” Hek said.
