Nongpoh:
A truck suddenly caught fire on National Highway-37 under the Jorabat Traffic Police outpost of Basistha Police Station area of Guwahati, on April 26.
Stating that the driver and the help managed to escape the spot, the police said that the truck was carrying cement from Jagiroad towards Changsari and that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The fire was brought under control with the help of the fire department, which reached the spot as soon as they got to know about the incident. However, by the time the flames were extinguished, a large part of the truck was burnt to a crisp. The police are investigating the matter and have registered an FIR in this regard.
