SHILLONG:

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, inaugurated the Iew Dorbar Shnong Malki, at Kharmalki, on February 14.

Stating that it is a part of an MLA scheme – Special Urban Work Programme (SUWP), Sangma said that the market will significantly impact the lives of the 25 families residing in the locality.

“In the last four days, we have touched the livelihood of over 7000 families. This scheme is meaningful as it creates a direct livelihood for the people; a model that needs to be replicated in other parts of the city. Other MLAs should follow the Dorbar out here, which has shown how innovation and utilisation of space can be used efficiently for the livelihood of the people,” Sangma added.
