NONGSTOIN:
Thousands of people attended a general meeting organised by the Nongstoin Block Congress Committee (NBCC) at Bishop Hall in Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills district, on January 19.
The meeting was also attended by president of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee and Lok Sabha MP Vincent H Pala, senior Congress leaders — J.A Lyngdoh, B. Nonglang and Gabriel Wahlang, the party candidate from Nongstoin, among others.
In his speech, Gabriel Wahlang said the reason why he stayed in the Congress even after the exit of many senior leaders was because he believed in the current state president, Vincent Pala while hoping that Congress will emerge victorious again in the upcoming election.
It may be mentioned that Wahlang will be going up against sitting MLA, Macmillan Byrsat of the NPP.
