Demand for separate Khasi-Jaintia state included in HSPDP’s manifesto

The manifesto was released by party chief KP Pangniang in the presence of senior leaders of the party, including veteran politician and MDC, Martle Mukhim at City Hut Dhaba in Shillong today.

The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), on February 2, released its manifesto for the upcoming assembly polls in the state scheduled to be held on February 27.

The party also released its second list of candidates for the polls. The list includes sitting MDC Martle N. Mukhim (Mawkynrew), veteran journalist, Starfing Jove Langpe Pdahkasiej (Mawsynram) Wyraiwan Sohtun (Mawryngkneng) and Sandondor Ryntathiang (Sohiong).

The second list and manifesto was released by party chief KP Pangniang in the presence of senior leaders of the party, including veteran politician and MDC, Martle Mukhim at City Hut Dhaba in Shillong today.

Addressing the media, HSPDP president KP Pangniang said the party, being one of the oldest parties in the state, will work towards bringing a clean and corruption-free government besides pushing its demand for the creation of a separate Khasi-Jaintia state.

Aside from these, the party will also focus on creating employment opportunities for the youths, settlement of the vexed interstate boundary issue, the implementation of Inner Line Permit, opposing railways unless a  mechanism to control influx is put in place, stern opposition to uranium mining in the state, demand for inclusion fo the Khasi language in the 8th Schedule, revamping the job reservation policy among others.
