AGARTALA:

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on September 26 said that a delegation of the Dental Council of India visited the state on September 24 to check out the scope of opening the first dental college in the state.

“The state government is trying to create a medical hub around Agartala Government Medical College. A dental college is also going to start in the state very soon. A delegation of the Dental Council of India visited the state on 24th September for this purpose,” Saha said at a programme organized on the occasion of 18th Foundation Anniversary of Agartala Government Medical College.

While saying that Agartala Government Medical College is the main medical service centre of the state, the CM added, “Agartala Government Medical College cannot be underestimated in any part. The state government has taken various initiatives for the development of this college. Many important medical services are being provided in this college hospital. But it is not properly propagated to the people.”

“In our state now we are getting better quality treatment. We are now moving towards super specialties. Medical services have been expanded in many areas,” he added.
