A wild elephant that was hit by a train and later rescued by the forest department succumbed to injuries in Assam’s Mariani on October 12.

The elephant was found in a pool of mud by forest department officials, 40 hours after it sustained injuries in the accident that had taken place in Assam’s Titabor on Sunday.
