FKJGP puts up speed warning signboards at Shillong bypass

Leaders of the organisation expressed concern over the day to day state of affairs at the Shillong bypass road which has witnessed so many deadly accidents that have claimed so many precious lives and injured many.

NONGPOH:

Concerned with the frequent accidents that take place at the Shillong bypass road, members of the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo people (FKJGP) Bhoirymbong circle on January 27 put up signboards at Lumdaitkhla and Lumsohpieng villages to warn people of the speed limit.

FKJGP Bhoirymbong circle president Boy Kurbah and secretary Banseng Sohiong led the placing of the signboards at the two villages.

Speaking to the media, the leaders expressed concern over the day to day state of affairs at the Shillong bypass road which has witnessed so many deadly accidents that have claimed so many precious lives and injured many.

They also said that such incidents have occurred due to the negligence and over speeding along the Shillong bypass which needs urgent interference from the authority concerned.

In order to prevent and warn such drivers from over speeding, the FKJGP erected these signboards, and it is also seeking the cooperation of the local dorbar shnong and authority concerned to take urgent steps to prevent such daily accidents from happening.
