FlyBIg introduces flights to Tezu and Imphal from Lokpriya Gopinath airport

As part of the National Civil Aviation Policy to develop regional connectivity and the government’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagarik) scheme, FlyBig Airines launched new connectivity to Tezu and Imphal from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI), Guwahati, on September 26.

“The connectivity, six days a week will be operationalised by Flybig Airline. This is the latest addition of air connectivity in the region under the state government-sponsored UDAN scheme,” said a spokesperson of Adani Guwahati International Airport Ltd (AGIAL).

Chief airport officer of AGIAL, Utpal Baruah, inaugurated the flight from LGBI airport.

“The passengers from Guwahati to Tezu and Imphal expressed satisfaction over the introduction of new flights connecting the hill station,” the spokesperson said.

It was informed that FlyBig is deploying ATR aircraft with single class configuration offering 70 seats in economy class.

It will be operated all six days of the week except Monday. The inward sector flight S9201 departs from Guwahati at 8:15 am for Tezu, and then departs from Tezu at 10 am to land in Imphal at 11.15 am.

On the other hand, flight S9202 departs for Tezu from Imphal at noon, and reaches Guwahati at 3:10 pm.

Manipur chief minister, N Biren Singh, flagged off the first FlyBig flight from Imphal to Tezu from the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.

Airport Director of Imphal Rajesh Sinha said, “We welcome FlyBig wholeheartedly to Imphal while assuring our support in its endeavour to connect Imphal with the rest of the nation through air connectivity. Together with Flybig, AAI Imphal is committed to propelling the Regional Connectivity Scheme – UDAN in the Northeast.”

FlyBig airlines operates 18 daily flights having Guwahati as its main hub. It is connecting Guwahati to seven destinations which include Tezu, Pasighat, Rupsi, Agartala, Dibrugarh, Kolkata, and Patna. Now, Imphal will be added to this list next week.
