Govt seeks Rs 20 cr more for CM’s housing programme

SHILLONG:

The state government has proposed additional Rs 20 crore as supplementary demand to meet the target of beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme for the 55 blocks and villages.

According to the Supplementary Demands for Grants and Supplementary Appropriation for the year 2023-2024 tabled by the Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, in the Assembly on Friday, the additional amount of Rs 20,00,00,000 is urgently required during the current financial year to meet the target of beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme for the 55 blocks and villages under the Urban Level Selection & Monitoring Committee.

It also said out of the originally approved voted amount of Rs 70 crore during the current financial year, Rs 20 crore had been sanctioned to meet the expenditure of the committed liability of the last financial year 2022-23.
