Deputy Chief Minister and NPP state president Prestone Tynsong, on November 14, informed that the government is awaiting communication from the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) for peace talks, and the government is trying its best to take the matter to its logical conclusion.

Briefing media persons on the status of the peace talks with HNLC , Tynsong said, “We are determined to continue the talks with the HNLC. We are waiting for a communication from their side since their top leaders could not participate in the meeting earlier,” he said.

He said the state government is ready for the next round of talks if the HNLC agrees to come to the table.
