GUWAHATI:

In yet another crackdown against drug trafficking, Assam Police recovered 194 gm of suspected heroin from an autorickshaw near Panbari forest range office in Diphu town, Karbi Anglong, on February 8 evening. The seized heroin is worth Rs 15 lakh in the international market.

Two persons – Abdus Salam and Jyotsnara Begum – were arrested in connection with the seizure, the police said.

Based on reliable information, the security personnel conducted a search operation in an autorickshaw bearing registration No AS-09-AC-7945 near Panbari forest range office and recovered the consignment from a woman traveling on the autorickshaw.

Police informed that the duo were travelling from Dhansiri to Diphu and were supposed to hand over the consignment at Howraghat.
