Meghalaya state Olympics association (MSOA) received green light to revive hockey in the state on Monday.

Chief Judicial Magistrate, Shillong, in a historic resolution, has closed the case against the accused person on the basis of application filed by MSOA.

Talking to The Meghalayan, Finely Pariat, General Secretary, Meghalaya State Olympics Association informed that the state Hockey was involved in a court case when they were not recognized by national federation because of some issues regarding impersonation.

“Hockey was involved in court case when they were not recognized by national federation because some people had impersonated. However, today’s decision will enable us to revive the game of Hockey in the state.” said Pariat.

“On the basis of mutual understanding and considering the interest of the athletes, the MSOA had filed an application for compounding the case of 2010 relating to Hockey sports and impersonation during election.”  “The Learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Shillong has closed the case against the accused person on the basis of our application.” He added.

After this significant development, Hockey in the state will certainly see revival and regular games could be arranged in the hill city.

This is not only a huge relief for the association but also a highly cherished update for the sports-loving people of the state.
