“The felicitation programme is an effort from our side to honour hill state leaders and volunteers of the party for their contribution towards the attainment of Meghalaya’s statehood,” said KP Pangniang, HSPDP president

Nongstoin:

The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) is yet to decide on its candidates for the upcoming Assembly election.

The president of the party, KP Pangniang, informed so, adding that the party will have to sit for a Central Election Committee meeting and wait for the outcome.

Pangniang was speaking at a felicitation programme organised by Hills State Volunteers Committee (HSVC), the volunteers’ wing of the HSPDP, to honour the Hill State Movement leaders and volunteers of the party, at Nongstoin, on March 21.

“The felicitation programme is an effort from our side to honour hill state leaders and volunteers of the party for their contribution towards the attainment of Meghalaya’s statehood,” said KP Pangniang, HSPDP president, post the meeting. Also present at the meeting was T Wanniang, the director of HSVC.

He further added that the HSPDP decided to organise the felicitation programme following suggestions from HSVC, considering several volunteers missed a similar programme organised by HSPDP on November 10, 2021.
