SHILLONG:

The 11th International Leo Expo commenced at Malki sports club ground, Shillong with a colourful inaugural function, on October 8.

This multifaceted expo will continue till October 24, and for the next 18 days, it will be an all roads leading to Malki ground.

All kinds of popular and prestigious brands, leading corporate houses, and global traders and entrepreneurs across India will participate in the 18-day-long colourful extravagant event.

This year, more than a hundred stalls with a variety of essentials, company products, attractive and authentic fashion products, innovative decorative items, world-class high-quality furniture, and best-quality food and health care products, among others are set up for the public.

Business houses with their original products from Thailand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are participating in the Expo with their rejuvenated enthusiasm after a devastating pandemic.

Gracing the inauguration of the Expo, as a chief guest, Ampareen Lyngdoh, MLA observed that the much-awaited event has become a part of autumn days festivities and life of the hills state.

Prodin Kharmudai, headman; Fantin Joseph Lakadong, MDC; Miquel Badwan, president Malki sports club and secretary Dorbar Shnong, Malki also graced the occasion as the guest of honour.

During the inauguration, Manisha Hazarika, the renowned singer and advisor of the Leo Expo committee said the event has gone beyond being just an Expo, adding “Leo Expo, apart from meeting the demands of the people of Shillong has become the most awaited and anticipated event”.
