KHADC inspects trading licence of non-local taxi drivers in Shillong

It may be mentioned that the East Khasi Hills Taxi Drivers’ Association had demanded the KHADC to conduct an inspection of trading license from non-local taxi drivers in the city.

SHILLONG:

Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), on May 25, inspected the trading licence of non-local taxi drivers operating within Shillong city, following a request made the Taxi Drivers’ Association.

The inspection started at 11 am at Mawprem Taxi Stand, Motphran, MUDA Parking Lot, Luckier Road, Laitumkhrah, Dhankheti, Malki, Barik, Polo, Golflink, Nongmensong, Nongthymmai, Rynjah, Madanrting, Happy Valley, Mawlong Hat, Khlieh Iewduh and Jhalupara Taxi Stand.

It may be mentioned that the East Khasi Hills Taxi Drivers’ Association had demanded the KHADC to conduct an inspection of trading license from non-local taxi drivers in the city – a move that was taken days after two local taxi drivers were assaulted by some miscreants on May 18 evening.
