SHILLONG:

State Office, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Shillong conducted a 3-day programme from October 21 to 23, at Sanatan, Dharmashaba, Harishaba, Laban-Durga Puja Committee, East Khasi Hills District, as part of the ‘Khadi Mahotsav’ under the tag line ‘Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion’.

Various programmes like seminars, Khadi yatras, Khadi Charchasn Khadi Pledge and mini-Exhibitions, aiming to promote Khadi, village industries, handloom and handicraft products, ODOP products and products of various traditional and cottage industries being manufactured locally in the state.

The mini exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Vijay Kumar Dwivedi, Principal, Ayuveda (NEIAH) in the presence of Mange Ram, State Director, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Shillong (Meghalaya), other officials/staff including the exhibitors. Dwivedi interacted with the exhibitors and spoke about the various schemes being implemented.

All the exhibitors were acknowledged for their contribution towards the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign and praised for promoting the growth and economy of the country.
