SHILLONG:
Lapalang defeated Thangshalai 3-1 in the first division match of the11th Mawryngkneng Greater Football League (MGFL) 2021-22.
Lapalang took charge of the match, right from the start in just 26th minute of the game, Lapalang took the lead through a spectacular goal from Banshemphang Khars.
And in 42nd minute of the match, Lapalang secured the lead in the match with two more goals back to back from Goldwin Kharsahnoh and Rapor Pyngrope, to make it 3-0 for their team. However, Thangshalaitried to get back into the match with some sporadic moments of brilliance, but that was not enough in the end, with only exception being a consolation goal from Shemborlang Kharko at the 73rd minute of the match to eventually end the score at 3-1 in favour of Lapalang.
With this win, Lapalang now tops the points table closely followed by Pdengshnong at second place. While in the second division Group A encounter between Mynriang and Nongrim, Nongrim managed to pip Mynriang by a solitary goal through Corbar Dkhar at the 26th minute of the game. In the other match of Second Division, Group B encounter, Pdengshnong Nonghali thrashed Sohlyngi 3-1 in a dramatic comeback from one goal down. Both the teams started off with vigour, but at the 34th minute, Sohlyngi took the lead through a spectacular goal from Colando Marthong.
But despite being one goal down, Pdengshnong Nonghali kept on their nerves and just after the break they made a dramatic comeback with back to back three goals in quick succession at 52nd minute (Okampher War), 57th minute (Rahbok Synnah) and 60th minute (Shembor Synnah) to make the result 3-1 in favour of Pdengshnong Nonghali.
