Manipuri lass wins Northeast Talent Hunt, set on entering AGT

The contest which was open to all kinds of talents/acts saw the participation of impressive candidates from across the North East.

GUWAHATI:

Vocal powerhouse Jeanpui Kamei from Manipur’s Churachandpur district emerged as the winner of the first edition of the mega talent search ‘Bring It On! NorthEast India’.

One of the region’s largest talent hunts, the competition was jointly organised by Echoes and Chiko Adventures as part of the latter’s ongoing Northeast Autumn Festival 2022 at Jorcheng, Lunghar, Ukhrul, Manipur.

The contest which was open to all kinds of talents/acts saw the participation of impressive candidates from across the North East.

As a winning prize, the organizing team will be sponsoring Kamei to audition for America’s Got Talent (AGT). The talent hunt was held online and Jeanpui was picked as the best from two rounds of video auditions. The winner gets an opportunity to audition for the next season of AGT for which an amount of up to Rs 1.5 lakh will be provided by the organiser.

The winner is also given a chance to claim the prize for any other national-level talent competition (i.e. in place of AGT audition) for which the sponsorship amount goes up to Rs 1 lakh. The prize money will be imbursed once the winner is eligible to audition for either AGT or national level competition.

Speaking on the initiative, Khuisang Rungsung, manager of communications, Echoes, said, “Bring It On! NorthEast India was conceptualised with the prime purpose of presenting a platform to showcase talents from North East India to the world. We want to take North East talents to the next level.”

The first edition of the contest was open to all bonafide residents of the North East with no age bar.

Echoes’ event manager Sanza K Shimray said, “The project was designed to encourage and inspire potential talents in the region and to create opportunities for gifted individuals to showcase their capabilities.”

“We take pride in doing our bit to lay a path for budding talents in the region to attain the right exposure and better opportunities in the future, and Echoes intends to make ‘Bring It On! North East India’ a calendar event,” Rungsung added.

Winner of the ‘Bring It On! Northeast’ contest, 19-year-old Jeanpui Kamei will be displaying her amazing vocal talent at the Northeast Autumn Festival 2022 music extravaganza on October 25 at Jorcheng Grassland, Lunghar were several renowned artists and personalities from the northeast are set to perform.
