Meghalaya to collaborate on bilateral relations with G20 nations: CM

Chef Minister Conrad K Sangma expressed hope that the state will make rapid strides with collaborations and bilateral relationships with all G20 nations, as the state and the North East has not been able to contribute as much to the overall economy of the country as it potentially can.

SHILLONG:

Chef Minister Conrad K Sangma, on April 17, said that the G20 meeting in Meghalaya will provide great opportunities to Meghalaya for future collaborations and bilateral relations for taking the state forward and become a part of nation’s development.

“This program, a vision of PM Narendra Modi is something we must congratulate him for, especially in involving all the different parts of North East and the country to be part of the historic G20 program, wherein nations can realise the potential of Meghalaya and North East for future investments and collaborations,” CM Sangma said during the G20 meeting in Shillong.

He said that Meghalaya currently has a number of bilateral programs that are underway for different collaborations and programs with different nations such as the Smart Village Movement where the government is working with the University of California, Berkeley, and collaboration with France to help different women Self Help Groups through various projects.

Sangma expressed hope that the state will make rapid strides with collaborations and bilateral relationships with all G20 nations, as the state and the North East has not been able to contribute as much to the overall economy of the country as it potentially can.

“I am sure with the leadership of PM Modi, and with the right policies and attention through this platform, North East and its immense potential can be realised so that we can contribute in nation building,” Sangma added.
