NONGPOH:
A new organisation, New Dawn Meghalaya, Ri Bhoi District Unit, led by Ulrich J Mawlong as president and Favourable Sylliang as general secretary, met with the SDO of MEPDCL, Nongpoh and discussed the difficulties faced by people in the due to frequent load-shedding , which has caused significant suffering,
The meeting also aimed to address the lack of pole lights in many areas.
After the meeting, Ulrich informed the media that the insufficient pole lights was due to the department receiving only a limited number. This has led them to use the old ones as a substitute until more lights arrive.
Ulrich further stated that the frequent power outages in Nongpoh were attributed to a shortage of workers in the department. Additionally, electricity supply to Nongpoh passes through several stations, including Umiam, Umsning, Zero Point, and Jyntru. Any disturbance in these stations can affect the electricity supply in the Nongpoh area.
