SHILLONG:
Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, on March 4, said that there is no conflict of interest between the Congress MLAs in the government because they are “no longer with the Congress”.
“They are no longer with the Congress, therefore, there is no conflict of interest,” Sangma added, pointing out that everyone in the government is there to work together for the state.
Responding to the “possibility of conflict” between the Congress and the BJP who are together in the government, the chief minister said that it is not a matter of concern because the Congress have suspended them from the party.
He further added that opposition MLAs are joining the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) because of the developmental work the government has undertaken in the state.
“Our efforts to resolve various issues have built confidence in opposition leaders. It is a positive reflection of the work of the government because of which they have extended their support to the MDA,” he said.
