GUWAHATI:

With an aim to fight fire incidents in operational areas of Oil India Limited (OIL), the public sector undertaking recently introduced a state-of-the-art “Mini Water Mist Fire Tender” that will help extinguish fires in minimum response time.

Resident chief executive of OIL Prasanta Borkakoty inaugurated the tender at Central Fire Station, Duliajan in the presence of senior officials of the company.

Giving details on the latest fire fighting machine, an OIL spokesperson said, “OIL Fire Service has procured the firefighting appliance intending to cater Class B standby services and attend fire incidents, especially, in remote and narrow operational areas where conventional fire tenders face difficulty to reach.”

“The fire tender is capable of dousing Class A, B & C fires including electrical fires with in-built water and foam tank with capacity of 500 and 50 litres, respectively,” he added.
