Ahead of the Assembly polls the People’s Democratic Front (PDF), on January 18, held its general meeting at the Khasi National Dorbar Hall, Mawkhar.
At the meeting, seven party candidates who are contesting in the polls from various constituencies were introduced at the gathering.
Cabinet Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh while speaking at the function reminded why the PDF was formed.
Lyngdoh said that the reason the party came into being was because the High Court snatched away the right of the traditional heads of the state.
He said if that had not happened the PDF would not have been formed and he would have been in his original party the Congress.
