Govt allocates portfolios to 12 cabinet ministers

SHILLONG:

The allocation of portfolios to recently elected cabinet ministers was approved by the governor on March 9, with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma heading the maximum number of departments.

The portfolios allocated to different ministers are:

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will look after Departments of Cabinet Affairs, Finance, Forests & Environment, Home (Political), Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Department, Mining & Geology, Elections, Personnel & AR Department, Programme Implementation & Evaluation, Information Technology and Communication, and other portfolios not allotted to anyone.

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong was allotted Home (Police), Public Works Department (R), Public Works Department (B), District Council Affairs, and Parliamentary Affairs Department.

Likewise, Deputy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar has been allotted Urban Affairs Department, Transport, Commerce & Industries, and Prisons and Correctional Services portfolios.

Other ministers and their portfolios include:

AL Hek: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Fisheries, Printing & Stationery, Secretariat Administration.

Ampareen Lyngdoh: Health & Family Welfare, Law, Information & Public Relations, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare.

Paul Lyngdoh: Social Welfare Department, Tourism Department, Art & Culture Department and Textile Department.

Comingone Ymbon: Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Water Resources Department, Home (Civil Defense and Home Guards) Department and Cooperation Department.

Marcuise N Marak: Public Health Engineering Department, Housing Department, & Soil and Water Conservation Department.

Abu Taher Mondal: Power Department, Community & Rural Development Department and Taxation Department.

Kyrmen Shylla: Excise Department, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Legal Metrology Department & Home (Passport) Department.

Shakliar Warjri: Sports & Youth Affairs Department & Labour Department, Registration and Stamps Department.

Rakkam A Sangma: Education Department, General Administration Department and Border Areas Development Department.
