Prestone Tynsong heads to Pynursla; says NPP will cross magic number

Speaking to media persons in Shillong before heading to his hometown, Tynsong is confident of NPP crossing the magic number, adding that this time Meghalaya will see a single-party government.

SHILLONG:

Sitting MLA and NPP candidate from Pynursla Prestone Tynsong is heading to Pynursla to cast his vote for the ongoing assembly polls.

Speaking to media persons in Shillong before heading to his hometown, Tynsong is confident of NPP crossing the magic number, adding that this time Meghalaya will see a single-party government.

“I travel a lot and I have seen the response of the public – it’s like a mass movement. I am very confident that we will form the government,” Tynsong said.

When asked whether the NPP is looking to form an alliance with any party, post elections, Tynsong said, “I will not say anything – let us cross the bridge first. But let me tell you – we will attain the required magic number – but of course, if we have to work together, we will see how to go about it.”

Reacting to a query on the pre-poll alliance, Tynsong said, “There is no pre-poll alliance or understanding. Everyone is fighting this election on their own.”

Asked whether NPP has a Chief Minister candidate, the senior party leader said, “The question of chief ministership depends on the newly elected MLAs of the party. We have to sit down and whatever decision is taken, we all have to respect that.”
