The West Garo Hills district administration has announced cash rewards of Rs 10,000 for any person who provides information on the whereabouts of key instigators of Monday night’s mob attack leading to their arrests.

The announcement was made by West Garo Hills deputy commissioner Jagdish Chelani on July 25. He said that the identity of the person giving the information will be kept secret.

Chelani urged the public to contact magistrates or police officials in their respective areas if they have any information on the instigators. He said that the next 24 hours are crucial to bring the perpetrators to book.

“We have made 21 arrests so far of the persons accused of instigation and the administration will continue to nab such miscreants who have used terror for narrow political gains,” stated Chelani.

He added that some of the key instigators have already been identified and remain on the run.

The deputy commissioner rounded up by saying that such contribution by the public will go a long way in bringing development and maintaining law and order for the good of society.
