SHILLONG:
The Meghalaya team were bundled out for a low total of 134 runs in the first innings of the semifinal plate group Ranji Trophy match at the MCA Ground, Shillong, on January 18.
Bihar which had lost its group match against Meghalaya earlier at the same ground, showed great resilience to bounce back in the semis and put a mammoth total of 428 runs on board, making the hosts slog from the very start.
Meghalaya batters went down to the tight bowling from the visitors, who restricted star batters from scoring and picking them up at regular intervals.
While most of the Meghalaya batters just scored in Single digits, R B Bishnoi Jr (40), Punit Bisht (38), and Kishan Lyndoh (32) could not last long at the crease to ensure a decent total.
For Bihar earlier on the first day, Bipin Saurabh scored 177 and Sachin Kumar Singh 75, helping the state put up a defendable total on the board.
Bihar were standing at 28/0 at stumps on Day 2 as the day 3 play resumes tomorrow.
