Rape accused gets 20 years imprisonment by Tura POCSO Court

The incident happened on March 24, 2014, in Tikrikilla, when Ramjan Ali, the accused, sexually assaulted a minor girl inside her home. He was subsequently arrested, and a case was registered.

A rape accused from the plain belt region of West Garo Hills has been awarded 20 years of imprisonment, with a fine of Rs 20,000 by the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) court in Tura.

The incident happened on March 24, 2014, in Tikrikilla, when Ramjan Ali, the accused, sexually assaulted a minor girl inside her home. He was subsequently arrested, and a case was registered.

The investigation by women police inspector Usha Singha led to the conviction of the Ali by a special judge of the POCSO Court in Tura. The accused will also have to undergo an additional year of simple imprisonment if he fails to pay the Rs 20,000 fine imposed on him by the court, the order stated.
