Recruitment is a continuous process: CM

It could be noted that on Wednesday, the Voice of the People Party (VPP) held a protest to express their displeasure with the reservation policy. The government was given 48 hours by the party last week to halt any hiring.

SHILLONG:

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on May 17 stated that even though the Cabinet has only reviewed the roster system and not the reservation policy,recruitment and the roster are continual processes. After the cabinet meeting, he told reporters, “The presentation was based on facts and figures. My cabinet colleagues were pleased with the roster system presentation we gave on Wednesday. After tomorrow’s (Thursday) all-party meeting, a clear picture will be presented.

 

We will stick to the roster system topic, he declared. The policy regarding reservations has not been considered. He said that details regarding the roster system’s operation, how it would be used going forward, and how it was in the past have been provided.

The CM further informed that a detailed presentation will be shown to the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) coalition partners tomorrow and a day after, there will be an all party meeting.

After the MDA meeting and the all party meeting, Sangma said that the government will meet stakeholders – religious groups, different social organisations etc
