Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday informed that repair of two units at Leshka and Umiam are going on and that the government is trying to address the issue at the earliest.
“As I mentioned earlier, that there are three units at the national level which are not functioning. This has impacted all North East states and Meghalaya alone is not facing this challenge. Due to this, 120 to 140 megawatts of power has been impacted,” Sangma said.
The chief minister also assured that the government is working to change load-shedding timings, adding that it is a concern and the government is trying to address the issue at the earliest.
“I am hopeful that a few of the units will start functioning in a few weeks and we expect things to improve and we are doing our best to ensure that there is minimum inconvenience,” he said.
