Ri Bhoi District is actively taking part in a big mock drill organised by the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority.
They are simulating a major earthquake like the one that happened in 1897. The remarkable aspect of this endeavour is its expansive reach, as it is being conducted in unison throughout all districts of Meghalaya. This video offers a glimpse into the preparedness efforts in Ri Bhoi district.
