Shillong:
Miscreants stole Rs 30,000 from the offering box belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, Mawshai Umlyngka on Sunday evening.
The secretary of the church S R Ryntathiang said that it was found that the Church was robbed on Monday morning and items such as a hammer, lighter etc were seen at the site.
She said, “They might have hid themselves when the youth service was held in the evening.”
It is suspected that drug addicts were behind the robbery.
Ryntathiang said that Church robbery is nothing new as a nearby Presbyterian Church, Mawpun was also robbed.
