Home (Police) Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has said that it is up to the district administration to assess the situation in the city.
He told reporters on the sidelines of a programme, “Section 144 CrPC will be there as long as it is needed. The district administration will review it every now and then to see that if the situation is conducive, then we will withdraw it at any point of time.”
He said that the District Administration imposed Section 144 CrPC depending on the situation.
One of the pressure groups has given the district administration one week’s time to revoke the order, Rymbui said that it all depends on the situation which will be assessed by the district administration.
“It all depends on the situation, based on assessment of the district administration, if it is conducive they can withdraw today also, no problem,” he said.
It may be mentioned that the district administration imposed Section 144 CrPC on October 31.
