Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) announced a year-long maternity leave for female teachers, and a month-long paternity leave for male teachers of all government schools during the Children’s Day celebration at Saramsa, on November 14.
The CM added that substitute teachers would be appointed in place of teachers on leave, stressing the importance of good education, construction of new schools, the establishment of
more private universities, good infrastructure, and introduction of new subjects in the school’s curriculum for Sikkim.
