Social youth organisation writes to Rymbui for extension of B Ed admission deadline

The president of Seng Samla Hima Langrin also suggested reduction in the admission fee from Rs 1000, saying that high rates of admission fee are affecting students from humble backgrounds.

GUWAHATI:

A social youth organisation has written to Education minister Lahkmen Rymbui urging the latter to extend the dates for admission for B Ed Programme in College for Teacher Education (PGT), on May 26.

“Extension of the dates for admission will provide more time to students to apply for the programme. Currently, many students are facing difficulties in applying for this programme, and through this letter, I would like to bring that to your notice. With your help, they will be able to pursue their dreams of becoming teachers,” said Pynshailang L Nongdiang, president of Seng Samla Hima Langrin, through the letter.

Nongdiang, who hails from Phlangmawprah Langrin Syiemship, South West Khasi Hill, urged the minister to issue more forms because limited numbers of forms are depriving the deserving candidates. “Issue online forms so that the students can aaply for it online and avoid standing in long queues,” he said.

The president also suggested reduction in the admission fee from Rs 1000, saying that high rates of admission fee are affecting students from humble backgrounds.

“Since this matter is related to our future teachers, I am writing this to you on behalf of all those students who wish to be good teachers for our future children. I seek a solution from you for the betterment of our children, schools, teachers and the state as a whole,” he added.
