Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma, on March 13, refused to comment on alleged sexual assault case pending against him.
“I have no comment on this. Let the law take its own course, that’s all. The investigation is still on and it is sub judice, I cannot say anything on this,” Sangma told reporters.
Last year, an FIR was filed by a woman with the East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police against Sangma for allegedly sexually assaulting her since January, 2021.
Sangma is the sitting legislator of North Tura and is also the general secretary of the National People’s Party.
