Shillong:
The maiden edition of the Women’s Football League will start from April 18 at the MFA Turf, Polo Ground, Shillong.
The coveted football tournament for women is organised by Shillong Sports Association and will be played in a single league basis. Twelve teams have signed up for the much anticipated women’s football league, and they have been divided into two groups.
Group A consists of Laitkor SC, Onsides Sports, PFR Football Academy, Rahjingshai S&CC, Mawlai SC and Thynroit S&CC, and Group B comprises of Nongkrem SC, Nongkohlew SC, Lumparing SC, Maw U-Tieng SC, Nongthymmai SC and Lawei SC.
Two games will be held on each matchday and the fixture for the first 16 encounters has been released. Each team will play the others in their group once.
