Prestone Tynsong

SHILLONG:

Deputy chief minister in-charge power, Prestone Tynsong, on January 20, said that the state government is mulling over setting up a solar and windmill park to increase the power generation in the state.

“We have already floated the Expression of Interest (EOI) in which interested private companies have participated,” he said.

Tynsong also added that the process of finalising the tendering process is on and private developers are keen to invest in the parks.

Tynsong said that the government wanted to set up solar and windmill parks in every district of the state. “However, we cannot give any assurance on this as it will depend on the private companies,” he added.

Tynsong informed that the Empowered Committee headed by him will soon sit to take a final call on the proposed projects.
