The first ever three-day Megha Start-Up expo is under way at NEHU campus, Tura, West Garo Hills district. The event will conclude on October 5. It is organised by BIRAC’S BioNEST Bioincubator (B3I) Facility, NEHU, Meghalaya in collaboration with Prime Start-Up Hub Meghalaya and BRTC KIIT-TBI, Odisha.
The expo was inaugurated by Education Minister, Rakkam A Sangma.
The primary objective of the expo is to provide a platform for start-Ups, agripreneurs, rural entrepreneurs, innovators and industries to showcase their farm produce, processed products, technologies and services. It aims to sensitise stakeholders about the facilitation available from enablers, funding opportunities and market demand. The event will also enable stakeholders in fostering connections with the broader value supply chain and offer networking opportunities with investors, buyers, branding, marketing and packaging partners.
Addressing the inaugural session, Sangma termed the expo a unique stage for the advancement of entrepreneurs. He also lauded the efforts of NEHU and its Vice Chancellor for facilitating the creation of capable human resources for a vibrant state through such measures. He urged the youths to strive to become industrious and to steer the nation towards prosperity.

Budding entrepreneurs and various departments of NEHU are participating in the event.
